How home shows can help you sell your design team

Updated: Jul 2

We’ve been watching a lot of real estate and remodeling shows while looking for a house. The experts always advise sellers to make things neutral and remove personal items. This is done so that potential buyers don’t get distracted by odd or personal decor choices and so they can see themselves in the space.

When we explored a house and saw our selves cooking in the kitchen and hanging out in the backyard with family and friends. Then we put an offer on it and luckily we got it.

Our house was staged just enough to give us hints at what might be but not so much to constrain our imagination. We could see what value and enjoyment we would get from the house.

Instead of marching your potential clients through a long pitch that is all about you, show them how you can work together and what value they will get. Stage the experience so clients can picture their company and their product with you as their partner.
